The challenges thrown up by remote learning have led many stakeholders — faculty and students alike — to rediscover the usefulness of their libraries. Following the move to remote instruction, Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Grace, from the Institute for Innovative Education: Miner Libraries at the University of Rochester Medical Center, experienced firsthand the myriad ways in which libraries could facilitate this challenging transition. Faculty, staff, students, and researchers alike began to better recognize the extent of the support and services offered by the library, as they worked to transform various aspects of their instruction, coursework, and research into virtual formats.
She will discuss how librarians can leverage virtual resources like JoVE to support their institutions; Liz will also discuss tips for librarians looking for effective ways to assist faculty and students looking for various kinds of remote teaching support, labs looking to save costs, researchers working on academic papers from home, and other members of their academic communities.
