Fashion, media, and entertainment journalism offer one of the most continuous and revealing records of cultural history. In this session, Women’s Wear Daily Archives Editor, author, visual culture historian, and educator Tonya Blazio‑Licorish shares how Women’s Wear Daily Archive (WWD), the Fairchild Archives, and the broader Penske Media archives become dynamic primary sources for teaching and interdisciplinary analysis. She demonstrates how these editorial archives help students and scholars examine identity, industry change, and cultural shifts over time.

Tonya will walk through three distinct research paths focused on History, Business, and Entertainment & Popular Culture, to show how decades of editorial reporting and visual storytelling document culture and commerce. Through examples and short case studies from her work as an archives editor, curator, author, and educator, she highlights how these archives support deeper analysis of cultural movements, business behavior, and representation over time.
